Cyprus Music Service
There are two centres: WSBA and ESBA. The main administrative base for Cyprus Music Service is at WSBA, based at St. John’s School, Episkopi. The second unit is based at King Richard School, Dhekelia.
The instrumental tuition comes as a ‘package’ consisting of two main elements:
Firstly, the pupil will receive small group lessons in his/her own school during the school week. All our staff are highly qualified instrumental specialists who will be available to teach a minimum of 30 lessons each year.
Secondly, after an initial period of tuition, the pupil will be expected to attend a Music School which will operate at a Music Centre in their Sovereign Base Area. These practical schools operate at various times during the week, outside normal school hours. It is here that the pupil will experience playing in larger bands, orchestras and other instrumental ensembles.
The Cyprus Music Service primarily offers tuition in woodwind, brass and stringed instruments. However, should timetabling, staffing and schools permit, we will always consider applications for other instruments. At present, tuition is available for pupils in Y3 and above. Please complete an application form stating your requirement; we may be able to help.
Every child will be given a suitability test once an application form has been returned, but tuition will not be able to commence until all completed documentation and payment is received at the WSBA Centre office.
